The Texas Journal of Oil, Gas, and Energy Law welcomes the submission of articles, notes, and recent development pieces from judges, academics, practicing lawyers, and students.

  • There is no limit on article length, but we aim to publish articles that can be read in one sitting.
  • We accept student notes from students at the University of Texas School of Law and all other U.S. law schools.
  • Recent Developments pieces should be around 10-15 pages and focus on recent issues in oil, gas, and energy law at the state, national, and international level.

HOW TO SUBMIT

We are now accepting submissions for our Spring 2011 Volume 6:2.

All articles may be submitted by email to submissions@tjogel.org.  All submissions must be in Microsoft Word format.  The document should be single-spaced with footnotes rather than endnotes.  Citations should conform with The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (18th ed.) and, where applicable, The Texas Rules of Form (10th ed.).  There is no limit on article length, but we aim to publish articles that can be read in one sitting.

TJOGEL accepts submissions on a rolling basis, and we encourage authors to submit an article as early as possible to  ensure there is still space available.  If authors expect their submission to be ready on or close to the deadline, they should communicate with us as soon as possible and provide a working draft so that we can work with the author regarding the submission process.

A NOTE ON EDITING

The Journal aspires to keep editorial interventions to a minimum, namely, whatever is necessary for the sake of grammar, spelling, and punctuation. We strive to preserve an author’s style and take great care to communicate with the authors regarding changes, suggestions, and feedback.  TJOGEL editorial board works with authors to provide individual attention, quick response to author questions, and communication regarding the editorial process every step of the way.

If you have any questions regarding the submissions process, please contact Co-Director of Submissions Emily Somerville at submissions@tjogel.org.
